Navy storms back, takes game one of Laker Nation World Series

The Columbia squad took an early lead by scoring six runs in the bottom of the second inning, but that's all they would get as the Navy squad tied the game at six in the top of the fourth and used some dominant pitching to cruise to an 11-6 victory in game one of the best of 5 Laker Nation world series at the Diamond at the Lake on Wednesday evening. Dylan McCartney pitched two scoreless innings, with Peyton Carr and Brandon Lucas throwing a scoreless inning each. Michael Joyce threw two scoreless innings of his own, recording five strikeouts, striking out the side in the eighth to end the game. With the score 9-6, Freshmen Kole Bozic delivered a two-run single in the top of the eighth to give the Navy squad a comfortable five run lead. The two teams will be back in action on Saturday November 7th, first pitch will be 12pm.
