Lakers tame Lions

The Garrett Lakers used a zone defense in the second half to beat the previously unbeaten CCBC-Dundalk Lions 76-68 on the road. Trailing at the half 33-36, the Lakers went to a zone defense and held the Lions to 33.8% from the field and 17.9% from three-point range. Freshmen D'Monte Brown led all scorers with 22 points. Nathan Payet had a double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds off the bench. Meron Gheybreyesus had 14 points while Oliver Jacquot chipped in with 13. The win gives the Lakers a 4-1 mark going into Thanksgiving break. 1-0 in DII Region XX competition. The Lakers will be back in action on December 4 when they host Penn Highlands at CARC arena. Tip-off time is 7 pm.
