The Garrett College Men's Basketball team headed into Christmas break with two tough road wins. Friday evening tied at 49 with Butler County Community College, the Lakers outscored the Pioneers 52-27 in the second half to come away with a 101-76 victory. Kenyon Stone led the Lakers with 18 points and D'Monte Brown had a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. On Saturday afternoon the Lakers almost blew a 15 point halftime lead against CCAC-Allegheny but the Cougars 3-point attempt at the buzzer rimmed out and Garrett escaped with an 88-86 win. Strahinja Ivic led Garrett with 14 points and Iziah Alexander chipped in with 13 points and 11 boards. With the two wins, the Lakers are now 8-2 heading into the break. Their next game will be January 7th when they host the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College. The tip-off time is 7 pm.
