Garrett College shook off some holiday rust early in the first half to defeat the Westmoreland County Community College Wolfpack 127-60 at CARC Arena on Tuesday night. Not having played since December 14, the Lakers started out slow by settling for jump shots and turning the ball over. Six minutes into the game the score was 18-15 Garrett. After a timeout, the Lakers outscored the Wolfpack 42-16 to in the first half and cruised in the second half to record their ninth victory of the season. Kenyon Stone led all scorers with 25 points. Meron Gheybreyesus and Merlon Devine each had 18, Strahinja Ivic added 14, D'Monte Brown chipped in with 13, Ngoye BobManual had 12 and Nathan Payet finished with 10. Cameron Selders recorded a double-double scoring 10 points and dishing out 11 assists. The Lakers go on the road to face Beaver County and then are back home Monday, Jan 13 to face arch-rival Allegany College. Tipoff time is 7 PM.
