Having not played in nine days you would think the Laker JV squad would come out a little rusty Thursday night. That was not the case. Tywon Montgomery's thunderous dunk capped off a 7-0 run to start the game and the Lakers blew out the visiting Pioneers from Point Park University 118-67. Late in the first half, Josh Bermudez's three-point play gave the Lakers an 18 point lead. The Lakers used a 24-3 run to start the second half and cruised from there. Montgomery finished with 18 points and Malik Whitaker also had 18. Daquan Evans led Garrett off the bench with 22 points, Antonio Marr added 15. Ibrahim Kanu and Davis Molloy chipped in with 12 apiece. Point Park's Jaden Willis led all scorers with 26 points. The 3-0 Laker JV squad travels to Beckley Prep tomorrow for a 6:00 pm tip-off.
