Sophomore D'Monte Brown (Petersburg, VA) poured in a game high 36 points for Team Hoffman but it wasn't enough as Team Gibson won three of the four ten minute quarters 23-9, 16-24, 33-18 and 25-23. Robell Desta (Pearland, TX) and Malik Whitaker (Humble, TX), the twin towers from Texas combined to score 47 of Team Gibson's 97 points to help lead the way. The closest quarter was the fourth quarter as Team Gibson led 23-21 with twenty seconds left. Team Hoffman called a timeout to set up a play. The play worked as Lamont Powell (Trappe, MD) delivered a perfect bounce pass to Brown cutting to the basketball for a lay-up to tie the fourth at 23-23 with ten seconds left. However, Whitaker took the ball down the right side of the lane and laid it up and in with .1 seconds left to seal the fourth quarter for Team Gibson. Sophomore Davis Malloy (Hilton Head, SC) scored 14 while sophomores Cam Selders (Morgantown, WV) and Antonio Marr (Washington, DC) chipped in with 13 points, while Dalton Wiles (Oakland, MD) added 10 points for Team Gibson. Powell was the only other player on Team Hoffman to score in double figures. He had 11.
