Former Lady Laker, Hannah Henderson, recently signed her national letter of intent to Grambling State University for Women's Basketball, announced Head Women's Basketball Coach JT Lewis.
Grambling State University, located in Grambling, Louisiana, competes in the NCAA at the Division I level. They are a member of the South Western Athletic Conference.
Hannah will join the Lady Tigers after an outstanding freshman season with Garrett. Hannah helped lead the team to the Region XX Championship Game, averaging 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 assists per game on the season. She was fourth in the NJCAA for field goal percentage with 60.1%.
Hannah racked up a number of awards while at Garrett College; she was named First Team All - MDJUCO, First Team All - Region XX, MDJUCO Player of the Month, and Garrett College's Female Athlete of the Year.
Hannah was a three sport Athlete for the Lady Lakers, also competing in volleyball and softball.
Grambling State University's Head Women's Basketball Coach, Freddie Murray, had this to say about Henderson: "Hannah has a blue-collar mentality and plays extremely hard. She rebounds on both ends of the floor and brings the ability to shoot the three, which will allow us to stretch the defense. Her size and length will allow us to have flexibility with match - ups on the defensive end of the floor".
