BUTLER, Pa. – Tyshira Joplin scored a team-high 20 points Saturday as the Lady Lakers (2-6) snapped a six-game losing streak.

Joplin added 5 rebounds and 3 steals.  She also passed out 2 assists.

Jada Maxwell (14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocked shots) and G'Vahn Pace (12 points, 5 assists, 3 steals) also scored in double figures for GC.  Sharatia Jefferson had a game-high 5 steals and a team-high 10 rebounds to go with her 7 points.

Shania Gales came off the bench to score 6 points and dish out a game-high 12 assists while hauling down 7 rebounds for the Lady Lakers.

Makenzie Craig notched game highs in points (24) and rebounds (15) for Butler, which also received 22 points and a team-high 8 assists from Casey Kretzer.  Carly Burdett (12 points, 5 assists, 3 steals) was the third BCCC player in double figures.

The Lady Lakers play Friday at 5 p.m. at Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) College.

 

CCBC-Catonsville 79, GC 72

CATONSVILLE, Md. – Lady Laker Jada Maxwell had a team-high 18 points and 8 rebounds last Thursday in a Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference road loss.

Sharatia Jefferson (16 points, 9 rebounds) and Tyshira Joplin (15 points) also reached double figures for GC, but no other Lady Laker scored more than Teyaurra Harris' 6 points.
