Garrett College point guard Teira Johnson scored 13 of her game-high 22 points in the first half to lead the Lady Lakers to an 83-57 victory against the Lady Bobcats of Bryant and Stratton at Carc Arena Saturday afternoon. With the Lady Lakers leading at halftime 32-12, the Lady Bobcats opened the second half on a 9-2 run cutting the Lady Lakers lead to 13, but Arionna Liberati's 3-pointer put the Lady Lakers back up by 16. The Lady Bobcats cut the lead to 9 midway through the 3rd quarter but back to back buckets by Jada Maxwell put Garrett back on top by 13. Lady Bobcats guard Jalencia Benz knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 10 but that was as close as Bryant and Stratton would get. Maya Harvey answered with 5 straight points and Kayla Harris hit a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 18 with 1:28 left in the 3rd quarter. For Garrett, Terynn Williams had 12 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, Liberati finished with 13 points, Harvey added 12 points and Harris chipped in with 10 points. The Lady Lakers improve to 2-1 on the year and will play Butler County Community College at home on Wednesday, November 20 at 5 pm.
