The Garrett College Lady Lakers used a late fourth-quarter run and withstood Casey Kretzer's' hot shooting to defeat Butler County Community College 70-56 at CARC Arena on Wednesday evening. The Lady Lakers went into halftime with a 17 point lead but saw its lead cut to six midway through the fourth quarter on a 3-point basket from Kretzer. With the score 60-54, the Lady Lakers went on a 10-2 run down the stretch with help from back-to-back three-pointers from Maya Harvey and Teira Johnson to give Garrett their third win of the year. Johnson finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Jada Maxwell had eight points and 16 rebounds, Kayla Harris and Arionna Liberati chipped in with 10 points and 12 points. Sophomore guard Terynn Williams showed some extreme toughness coming out of the game early in the second half after being cut in the mouth recording a double-double, 10 points, and 12 rebounds. Kretzer, Butler's sophomore guard had a game-high 26 points. The Lady Lakers will be back in action after Thanksgiving break on December 4th when they host Penn Highlands. Game time is 5 pm.
