Calvin Friend joins the Garrett College wrestling program as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2025–2026 season, bringing enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping student-athletes reach their full potential.

Friend becomes part of a coaching staff guiding one of the NJCAA’s most well-rounded programs. The Lakers finished the 2024–2025 season with a 10-5 dual meet record, earned a top 15 national ranking, and qualified 15 athletes for the NJCAA National Championships.

As he enters his first season on staff, Coach Friend is eager to contribute to the program’s ongoing success through mentorship, daily training support, and helping maintain the high standards set by the Garrett College wrestling tradition.
